Story

The story

On her wedding day, Riley is left at the altar when her boyfriend Sean rushes to the hospital to be with his childhood sweetheart Yvonne, who is giving birth as a single mother. At the hospital she sees Sean cradling the baby, and he tells Yvonne he will be the child's father. Riley calls Jayden, who agrees to marry her, and she postpones the wedding by a month.

Sean insists the hospital trip was an emergency and promises not to miss their next wedding, but Riley tells him there will be no second ceremony. When an earthquake strikes the hospital, Sean leads Yvonne and her baby to safety without a glance at Riley, and Yvonne later moves into Riley's home wearing her clothes, determined to take everything she has.

As Yvonne stages a scene, Sean pushes Riley to the ground.

Opening excerpt

My boyfriend abandoned me at the altar on the day of our wedding to accompany his childhood sweetheart, who was about to give birth as a single mother.

Faced with the sarcastic looks thrown at me by the guests, I took off my wedding veil and headed to the hospital to confront him.

I saw him holding her baby in his arms with love in his eyes.
