After the Breakup, I Rejected His Second Pursuit

When a fire engulfs Jasmine's apartment, her firefighter boyfriend Yannis is nowhere to be found. She calls him for help, but his ex-girlfriend Wendy answers, and Yannis tells whoever is calling to stop bothering him on his day off before blocking her number. Jasmine survives, and when she returns to the fire station she requests a transfer.

Yannis finally appears days later, complaining about the mess and avoiding any mention of Wendy or the fire. Jasmine ends their relationship, and he leaves sneering that she shouldn't come crawling back. As a fire commander, she becomes the object of ridicule among her colleagues, though her supervisor senses something deeper is wrong and urges her to think of herself.

After five years of devotion, Jasmine blocks Yannis and turns toward the national rescue team selection, while he vanishes and Wendy sends updates of their time together. When Yannis returns and suggests a walk to mend fences, Jasmine no longer jumps at the chance.
