The story

Reborn at eighteen, just after the Vanderbilt family found her following fifteen years apart, Sophia refuses to compete for their affection again. She applies to a geology program in Alaska instead of the Ivy League business school they expect, declines to attend her sister Minkie's birthday gala, and plans to leave before the party. Her father Richard and mother Eleanor barely know her, and Minkie's gentle words hide barbs.

In her past life, Sophia starved for their love, married as they chose, and died despised by everyone, including her own son. This time she packs her foster parents' photo and her own savings, counting the days until she can escape a house that never had room for her.

She wants none of their name or their perfect family. She only wants herself.
