Reborn with My Wife Before SAT

Andy Williams dies at eighty, tethered to a ventilator, after sixty years of marriage to Yvonne Smith. When he asks whether she ever loved him, her silence is answer enough. He closes his eyes wishing he had never met her, and wakes as a high school senior on the cusp of his final year, resolved to keep his distance from Yvonne and live free of her shadow.

Yet Yvonne corners him in the stairwell, vowing he will not escape her this time. His family arranges a blind date with the campus belle of a prestigious high school; he knows it is Yvonne, and his mother threatens to disown him if he refuses. At the city library he offers her a fifty-cent toy ring in place of the Cartier ring, but she slips it on and asks if he is proposing.

When she transfers into his class beside her childhood sweetheart John Blake, she asks to sit with Andy instead, and he wakes to find her coat over his shoulders. He cannot fathom her intentions.
