Goodbye, The Most Painful Love

Chloe Jones is the city's youngest and most promising medical examiner, called out when a mud-covered suitcase washes up on a riverbank, holding a dismembered torso. Her husband Hans Lane has vanished, but she believes he is only playing cruel tricks to stop their divorce, and she blocks his calls while turning her attention to another man.

As Chloe works the autopsy, the evidence points to a revenge killing that echoes a case still haunting the police. Her colleagues urge her to go home to Hans, yet she speaks of him only with disgust, unaware that the body on her table is the husband she despises.

A bloody finger and a strange photograph arrive in a package bearing Hans's name, and Captain James begins to wonder if Hans is in danger. Chloe refuses to see it, and the truth waits beneath her scalpel.
