I Was His Secret Wife,Until I Became His Nightmare

Serafina Valente has spent three years living quietly at the foot of a mountain as the ordinary wife of Cesare Delgado, a man she believes to be a freelance enforcer. She has hidden her own identity, and he has hidden his. The day she learns she is pregnant, Cesare tells her he is the heir to the Delgado Family and will marry the Counselor's eldest daughter, Sienna Marchetti, in three days. He offers Serafina a house and a life as his kept woman, then burns their cottage to erase every trace of their past.

Locked in a side wing of the Delgado estate, Serafina learns he traded his service commendations for the diamond tiara once reserved for the Don's own daughters, and that he spent her birthday in Sienna's bed. When she begs him not to marry, he tells her a civilian woman could never stand beside a future Don. Then he reveals that Sienna may be pregnant, and that her child must be the firstborn heir.

Serafina eats the pastries he brings her without a second thought.
