Story

The story

A lethal neurotoxin is already consuming Nick's lungs, and he has only twenty-four hours left. His mother Sofia, Palermo's most connected lawyer, his father Tommaso, Sicily's most feared private doctor, and his wife Lina, daughter of Don Vitali, have pulled him from the family sanatorium for one purpose: his liver, to save his brother Vincent.

They demand he sign divorce papers so Lina can marry Vincent before the surgery, then hand him the consent form. When Don Vitali learns the truth and orders Lina lashed, Vincent blames Nick and demands he take double the punishment on film. Nick agrees to everything, saying nothing of the death already inside him.

As his family drags him into the courtyard, they still believe they hold his life in their hands.
