Story

The story

On the first day of class, Wendy Lopez offers to pay the tuition for the entire class, flashing a diamond watch and playing the generous heiress. Nancy Garcia, who once secretly sponsored Wendy with a supplementary credit card, refuses the handout and pays her own way. The class turns on her, and Ivan Sanders slaps her for insulting Wendy's kindness.

Nancy walks out and freezes the card. A week later, when the professor brings a card reader and Wendy presents a black card, nothing goes through. Wendy claims the bank froze her account, and her classmates, who already spent their tuition money, demand she pay before they are expelled.

Nancy remembers a past life: Wendy stole her writing, took a place at Kingsbridge University, and left her to be hounded and killed. This time she will not take what she has not earned.

Opening excerpt

On the first day of classes, my boyfriend's childhood friend, Wendy, used my supplementary credit card to pay for everyone's tuition fee, successfully playing the role of a kind and beautiful heiress.

During the creative writing competition, his childhood friend's submission was the same as mine. All my classmates pointed their fingers at me and confirmed that I had plagiarized her work.
