He Chose His First Love, So I Chose His Bank Account

At a dinner with her husband Lucas's returning first love, Vivian, Chloe watches the two of them talk for two hours while Vivian picks apart her outfits, career and income. Lucas peels a shrimp for Vivian and remarks that dating and marriage are completely different things, then asks Chloe to agree. Chloe answers that marrying him was practical, not love, and when he insists on driving Vivian home and tells her to take the subway, she calls her coworker Ethan for a ride instead.

Back at the apartment, Chloe moves her things into the guest room and tells Lucas she wants a divorce. He calls her petty and insists he was only stating facts; she points out that he humiliated his own wife in front of his ex. Their practical marriage, built on family pressure and six months of dating, has reached its breaking point.
