Chapter 1The Alpha’s Hidden Obsession

I was a useless beta, raised by my stepbrother.

But I took advantage of his rut and crawled into his bed.

Terrified that he would find me disgusting, I fled while he was still unconscious.

Half a month passed in silence.

When I came home, I found him sitting on the sofa.

In his hand was a positive pregnancy test.

"Who the hell did you get pregnant?"

"Get over here. On your knees."

Seeing my brother, Caleb, in a rage was no less terrifying than meeting the Grim Reaper himself.

I trembled as I walked over to him.

I knelt perfectly straight.

"Read this to me. Tell me what it says."

The pregnancy test report was thrown in my face. I bit my lip, too scared to speak.

"Bro..."

"How old are you?"

"Eighteen."

He sneered, his eyes icy. "Great. Just great. This is how I raised you."

"Eighteen years old and you're already knocking someone up."

My heart gave a huge sigh of relief. Thank god the report didn't have my name on it.

Seeing I didn't answer, he continued.

"Who is it?"

"Is it that girl, Mia, who's been chasing you? Or Lily, who gave you chocolates?"

"Or is it your best friend, that little omega, Sam?"

I was surprised. I didn't expect him to remember my pursuers better than I did.

"I... I'll handle it myself, Bro."

"Handle it how? Tell me."

I thought for a moment. My brother hated irresponsibility more than anything.

He especially loathed people who dared to act but didn't dare to face the consequences.

So I said, "I'll take responsibility for them. And then, I'll work hard, make money, and support them..."

The atmosphere froze. Caleb didn't speak for a long time.

Just as I was confused.

I suddenly heard a crisp metallic click.

My heart lurched.

That was the sound of my brother undoing his belt.
