Story

The story

When the apocalypse came, Matthew and his younger brother Winston awakened superpowers. Winston seized the lightning ability, while Matthew took the seemingly useless healing power. Yet Winston squandered his gift, while Matthew became a prized asset — until jealous Winston shoved him into a zombie horde.

Reborn, Winston grabs the healing ability first, boasting that this time he will live the easy life while Matthew does the dirty work. Matthew only smiles, for a true healing ability never existed in this world. Assigned to the front line by Bianca Reynolds, who rules their shelter by force, Matthew fights with the weak sparks of lightning he once envied.

As Winston's stolen power fails the wounded and turns everyone against him, Matthew watches his brother's triumph curdle into terror.

But he couldn't endure the grueling training required to upgrade it.
