Story

The story

Grace Lockwood is dying, and her one wish is for her daughter Sophia to have a child. To ease her foster mother's mind, Jason Danish agrees to marry Sophia and give her that child — even though he is already married to Chloe Hartwell. He stays out all night, pressures Chloe to divorce him, and promises he will remarry her once Sophia has the baby.

After another fight over Sophia, Chloe summons the long-dormant Zenith Interface and asks to leave this world. The system will strip away her emotions for the first three months of the separation, sparing her the pain of her final moments. As her feelings fade, Jason notices her growing indifference — and begins to panic.

Chloe was an orphan; Jason once told her she was his home. Now she waits in the backseat while Sophia sits up front, and the divorce papers are only a day away.

Grace Lockwood was dying. Her one wish was for her only daughter, Sophia Lockwood, to have a child to call her own.

To ease her foster mother’s worries, Jason Danish agreed to her request.

He started staying out all night, pressuring me to divorce him.

After several heated arguments, I summoned the long-dormant Zenith Interface, “I want to leave this world.”

To spare me from pain in my final moments, the system extracted my core emotions.

I stopped fighting or arguing, which seemed to please Jason. He eagerly married his foster sister, Sophia.
