Story
The story
Aria has always been told she is emotionally distant, a coldness left by a childhood kidnapping. Her marriage to Lucas, eight years long and seemingly happy, has never troubled her — until her new sister-in-law Lily asks why she married a man she does not love. Lily claims she has traveled into a book, and that Lucas himself believes he forced Aria into an arranged marriage, a belief shared by her whole family.
Aria knows the truth: they met at university, fell in love, and married by choice. Yet when she tells Lucas she loves him, he hangs up on her for the first time, then returns home only to retreat to his apartment, avoiding her. To close the distance, Aria turns to Ryan, a junior from her Ph.D. program, to arrange a meeting with the boss of Xun Yao — Lucas's own company.
What Lucas believes about their past, and whether Aria can prove her love, remains unresolved.
