Story

The story

Chloe has face blindness, so when her long-haul trucker husband Jax returns home, she can never quite recognize him. Sometimes he pins her against the wall like a madman, sometimes he holds her with red-rimmed eyes whispering apologies, and sometimes he coldly orders her to lie still. She blames the road for breaking him.

Then three identical tall men stand in her living room, each claiming to be her husband. One is the rough brute she married to escape loan sharks, one is disturbingly gentle, and one wears gold-rimmed glasses and speaks to her like she is an ant. To her ruined eyes, their faces are indistinguishable.

Which of these three men is the truck driver who once swore to protect her, and what has she actually married?

Other times, he’d hold me with red-rimmed eyes, whispering how he didn’t want to hurt…
