A Bastard for New Year's Gift

After three months away on business, Elsa finally secures a ticket home for the New Year, eager to surprise her husband Simon and their daughter Eloise. She keeps her early arrival a secret, imagining their joyful faces as she hurries through the cold with carefully wrapped gifts.

But the warmth she expects shatters at the door. She finds Simon with his arm around Raya, a woman he calls his childhood friend, while her mother-in-law Evelyn demands she apologize. When Elsa discovers traces of golden fur and blood in the kitchen, she realizes her beloved dog Arlo, her last link to her late mother, has been cooked to feed a guest. Then a scream from Eloise's room sends her racing inside, where a strange boy named Tyler is wrecking her daughter's things, and Eloise is nowhere to be found.

Betrayal, grief and a mother's terror collide as Elsa fights to learn what has happened to her child.
