Regret Consumed Her Husband and Son After She Left

In 1990, Astrella Brooks volunteers for a classified supersonic test flight mission, knowing it may cost her life. She has a young son, Reaghan, but no marriage certificate: her bond with Raiden Lancaster has long been a stagnant pool. Years earlier, she had married him out of duty to her late mentor, the test pilot who died in a wind tunnel experiment, leaving a will that asked the organization to cover the tuition of his son, Raiden, then a PhD candidate in finance at Arindale University.

For six years their life together seemed perfect, until Norella Everest, Raiden's childhood friend, returns and moves in next door. Raiden is drawn to her orbit, and their son Reaghan eagerly follows. One night, Astrella finds Norella in their bathroom, wrapped in a bathrobe, while Raiden drapes a coat over her shoulders and asks if Astrella minds.

With her resolve set, Astrella signs the sealed papers and dials the number, ready to leave the home she has loved for six years. But as Reaghan calls for Norella to tell him a story, the family she built slips further away.
