My Husband Used My Father's Life to Clear His Name

Skylar Mitchell's father, Daniel Mitchell, a retired policeman, delivers a meal to her husband Mason Murphy's office and finds him with his secretary, Tiffany Reed. Daniel leaves in anger; Mason pushes him down the stairs. Dying, Daniel tells Skylar he fell by accident and begs her not to let it affect her marriage. When Skylar finally reaches Mason by phone, a woman's voice asks him about costumes.

Skylar demands a divorce, but Mason calls her father's death a trivial misunderstanding and insists Tiffany is only a colleague. He brings home a lipstick in a shade Skylar never wears, the same color Tiffany uses. Daniel had raised Mason, an orphan he adopted after his wife Brenda died saving the boy, and had given him his retirement savings.

Mason refuses to sign unless Daniel agrees in person. Daniel is gone, and the marriage ends here.
