She Won't Marry? I'll Wed Her Illegitimate Sister

After Iris Miller abandons Jasper Swanson at the altar for the seventh time to be with her childhood sweetheart, Aaron Trent, the Miller family arrives at his door with offers of gold, buildings and stores to smooth things over. Iris, listening in, scoffs that Jasper will always come crawling back, and the watching crowd waits for him to swallow the humiliation as he always has.

But Jasper has accepted such compensation six times before, and he is done with both the gifts and the bride. He turns to Taylor Miller, Iris' most hated half-sister, and asks whether the promise still stands that whoever he marries becomes the future heiress of the Miller family. Daniel Miller, Iris' grandfather, warns him about Taylor's history, yet Jasper chooses her, and the wedding is postponed a week to order a new dress.

When Jasper goes to buy a new wedding ring, he runs into Iris and Aaron, just back in the country. Iris accuses him of tracking her down and insists she will not be forced into marriage, while Aaron drapes himself over her and promises to set her straight before handing her over.
