Love Lost in the Maze, Never Returning

Ten years ago, Adam Croft left Clara Moon at the altar for a scholarship student, and his father froze his assets and blacklisted him. Broken and ill, Adam returned and married Clara, becoming the cold heir he was meant to be. For a decade they kept a marriage of polite distance, a model couple in society's eyes, and Clara believed their future was a smooth road to happiness.

Then she found ten love letters Adam had written to Serena Vance, hidden in their safe. Throughout their marriage he had been steadfastly in love with another woman. That night Clara scheduled an abortion, but the baby kicked and she stopped the procedure. At home she slid divorce papers in front of Adam, who tore them up and offered her a black credit card.

When Clara mentions Serena is divorced and back, Adam claims he does not care, though he hired her divorce lawyer and met her at the airport on their wedding anniversary. Then he brings Serena home, asking Clara to care for her. Clara throws cold water in Serena's face and declares she is breaking her promises too.
