He Likes Them Pure

Emilia has spent two years believing her boyfriend, Zayne Jefferson, will marry her once she graduates. She studies hard, finishes her credits early, and learns everything she can to keep him satisfied, all for the promise of a home.

Then she overhears him at a bar, calling another woman, Yasmin Lambert, pure. When Yasmin arrives in white and shows off a custom diamond ring Zayne gave her, Emilia sees the cheap silver band on her own finger for what it is. She walks out, throws the ring away, and tells her professor, Mr. Levine, she wants in on the StellarVision project, even though it means cutting off contact with everyone outside for at least five years.

Now Zayne clings to her, unaware she is already packing to leave him behind.
