As soon as I entered the restaurant, I saw Tyler's back. The person facing him spoke.

"Tyler, it's raining outside. You're making your girlfriend come alone?"

"She can't make it today," Tyler said definitively.

I was curious why he thought I couldn't come. His friend was also curious and asked the question I wanted to ask: "Why not?"

"It's her time of the month."

I suffer from severe menstrual cramps that can cause me to faint. Tyler knows this.

Was he doing this on purpose?

The smile froze on my face, all joy of sharing the news gone.

I stood there stunned as their conversation continued.

"If that's the case, why did you ask her to come?"

"You don't understand. Ariana's coming back tomorrow. She called and asked me to pick her up. I want to break up with Chloe."

"But aren't you two about to get married?"

Tyler was silent for a moment before responding firmly: "That's why I don't want to have any regrets."
