Rain and Unspoken Vows

On her third wedding anniversary, Jenna Frost receives no gift from her husband Peyton, only a settlement agreement. Her mother died after Carmen, a woman with no surgical skill, removed six organs from her during a supposed emergency operation. Jenna's brother Wade, who confronted Carmen, has been seized by Peyton's men, and Peyton now offers a trade: sign the agreement and Wade walks free.

When Jenna tears the papers apart, Peyton shows her photographs of Wade bound and bruised, and warns that worse will follow. To save her brother, she signs, then testifies in court that her accusations against Carmen were a misunderstanding. Carmen goes free, and the crowd outside turns on Jenna, while Peyton shields Carmen and leads her away.

Waking in a hospital room, Jenna asks for a divorce, but Peyton dismisses it as a tantrum and moves Carmen into their villa, threatening to break Wade's legs if Jenna leaves. Cornered, Jenna makes a phone call about a condition once offered to her.
