Trading My Mob Husband For Power

Everyone in Miami believes Roman's wife Diana is fragile: terrified of the dark, sickened by blood, and unable to survive without him. Roman believes it too, and for three years he has flaunted his mistresses, most recently Lexi, without ever fearing she might leave. When Diana finds a pair of bloody lace panties in his Mercedes, she no longer screams or shatters glass. She only nods, calm and indifferent, and Roman grows uneasy at her sudden composure.

What he does not know is that Diana has taken a lover of her own, a wild, obedient boy named Nico, and that she has quietly erased every trace of Roman from their Coral Gables mansion. As he pushes her to be more like Lexi, she meets his cruelty with flat contempt, calling him filthy. Bruises Nico left on her skin nearly betray her when Roman embraces her, and she shoves him away.

After he storms out, Diana opens his anniversary gift, a diamond-studded derringer, and sees a photo from Lexi in Nassau. When Roman later calls her, drunk and helpless, she simply tells him to call Lexi, because she is busy.
