The Disputed Refrigerator

Mia keeps a mini-fridge at her cubicle for the herbal teas she relies on. When a colleague, Lisa Argal, asks to chill her pumped breast milk there, Mia agrees without a second thought. The next morning Lisa summons her to the Pediatric Hospital, blaming the fridge for spoiling the milk and sickening her toddler, and demanding Mia cover the medical bills and losses.

Lisa's mother-in-law seizes on the accusation, shouting through the emergency room that Mia tampered with the milk and dragging her to the cashier. Bystanders take the family's side, and Mia pays thousands before she is released, her wallet lighter and her goodwill crushed.

Back at the office, Mia tells Christine everything and files a request for a large double-door fridge, offering it to the whole team at her own expense while keeping the final say on its use. The request is approved within half an hour, and the old mini-fridge goes up for sale.
