Story

The story

For five years, Belle has been married to Bill, a renowned businessman in A City, yet he keeps their marriage hidden and treats her as nothing. When a Tibetan mastiff drags her into the forest, she instinctively calls him, but he coldly dismisses her to rush to Annie, his first love. Only after she sends a final message does she slip away, her body left mutilated.

As a spirit, Belle watches Bill cradle Annie by the sea, promising to drag her sister in for a transfusion. She remembers how he had bodyguards seize her for Annie's blood, ignoring her anemia, and how he pushed her away when she came to him with a liver cancer diagnosis. Even in death, she sees the truth: she never mattered to him.

Now, invisible, she lingers over the man who left her to die, watching him tend to the woman he always truly loved.

Opening excerpt

"Can you stop calling me all the time?I have things to do,I don’t have time for your nonsense!"

Through the howling wind,I heard Annie's sickly sweet voice in the background."Bill,I’m not feeling well..."

Bill’s tone softened immediately."I’ll be right there."

Then,he hung up.
