A Valentine's Prescription for Divorce

David Sterling, Chief of Cardiac Surgery, takes his wife Clara out for steaks and whiskey on Valentine's Day—food he normally avoids because of his ulcers. At the restaurant, Amber Hartley, a young intern from his hospital, serves them with unsettling familiarity, and David's indulgent behavior toward her leaves Clara uneasy.

When Amber insults Clara, David dismisses it as youthful ignorance and secretly holds Amber's hand in the dark. Months later, he asks Clara to let the recently fired Amber move into their guest room, claiming she is homeless and in debt. Clara agrees, but installs hidden cameras and takes their son Leo to her mother's place.

Watching the live feed, Clara sees Amber throw herself at David, and he does not resist. Clara resolves that he will leave the marriage with nothing.
