My Boyfriend Threw Me Into the Fire

A fire breaks out in a residential building at night. A young woman begs her boyfriend for help, but he runs into the house opposite to save his childhood sweetheart instead. She escapes alone, wrapped in a wet blanket, and collapses as he rushes back into the flames for the other woman's kitten. She wakes to find the childhood sweetheart posting intimate photos online, and the official girlfriend answers with a public comment of her own.

When Gavin Horne finally calls, he scolds Scarlett Reid for embarrassing Jessa and never asks about her injuries. Her left leg is fractured; she is hospitalized and discharged alone. She writes out the whole truth of the fire and wishes the pair a lifetime of happiness, then turns her back on the wedding she had postponed her dream for.

A rare chance to enter the World Painting Contest arrives from her teacher. Scarlett chooses to take it, returning to the room that first inspired her, while Gavin and Jessa keep circling back into her life.
